Winemaker Notes
The 2010 growing season was cool early on, resulting in complex flavors and balanced fruit. After an August heat spike, the grenache was quickly ripened and was harvested September 27th at 24 brix. We de-stemmed the hand picked grenache, added some enzyme and let it cold soak for a few hours. Following a whole berry press, we maintained a cool fermentation in all stainless steel, which allowed us to retain the fruit's natural character. Watermelon and strawberry make up the aromatics of this wine. The lush, round palate of strawberry juice with hints of red cream soda leads to a long, lingering finish
