Los Chamizal Vineyard, Sonoma Valley

Sold Out

Overview

Los Chamizal Vineyards, located in the foothills above the city of Sonoma, was first planted in the 1970′s. The beautiful terraced vines are carved into steeply sloping hillsides reaching 800 ft. in elevation. The soils range from well drained sandy clay loam at lower elevations to thin fractured basalt soils at higher elevations.  The vineyard has a modestly warm climate through the day, with the vines enjoying cooler evening air, which preserves higher acidity levels in the grapes.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of crushed berry, succulent wildberry, violets, and a character that turns to a sweet ripeness, folding together in a seamless presentation. The finish is long and lingering with hints of blueberry, and a distinctive minerality. A mountain Syrah that’s frame is built around firm tannins for ageability with the ability to hold up to some of your heartier meals and wild game dishes.
